Automatic Arrivals
We are shortly to add an automatic arrivals system to our main site in Selby. This will allow patients to record themselves as arriving for their appointment without the need to go to reception. The system works by a touch screen computer, all that needs to be added is a patients date of birth and sex.
This system will ease the throughput at reception and avoid unnecessary delays

Repeat Prescriptions
Did you know that about 1.3 million prescriptions are issued very working day in England, with this figure set to rise by 5% each year?, of these about 70% are for repeat medication.
To handle this volume more efficiently the NHS is introducing and Electronic Prescription Service . In time this service will allow your prescription to be sent electronically from your GP to a pharmacist of your choice. This will mean improved service & accuracy.
This service is being introduced in two stages, we are currently acting as one of 100 sites nationally who are piloting stage one of this development. As a result of this, those patients registered at our main site in Selby may notice a slight change to their prescription. The prescription may have a slightly different type face and will have a bar code down the right hand side, this should be the only change.
At present patients should deal with all prescriptions in the usual way,
only when stage two is developed will there be any change to patients
and we will advise well in advance of any such changes,
